Soul of my art
Elise Perttula
You know those rare, fleeting moments when your heart feels like it might burst with the pure joy of being alive? Those meaningful glimpses of happiness that you want to hold onto and store deep within your soul forever?
This is exactly where my art is born. I paint flowers and nature, color and joy, happiness and hope. In my paintings, the summer meadows, rolling hills, and layers of texture represent lived life—feelings of happiness, cherished memories, and dreams for the future.
My wish is to freeze these transient and meaningful emotions so they can live on, never fading or withering away. Here, imagination exists in perfect harmony with reality, and everything is allowed to be a little bit "too much." The flowers can bloom a little too large, and the colors can be a bit too bold. My landscapes often resemble a paused camera frame—a captured moment and a meaningful second in time.
When you pause in front of my painting, I hope it serves as a gentle reminder of what a happy life feels like.
The very roots of my inspiration trace back to my childhood and my grandparents' commercial garden. I can still remember the endless array of colors and shapes, and the intoxicating scent that embraced me the moment I stepped through the door of my grandmother's flower greenhouse.
Step inside the fairytale landscapes of my paintings and see if you can find the piece born from your own heart’s moment.
